Northbound Labs (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we gather, utilize, and safeguard personal information collected through the Digital Product Idea Validator and our website.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Lead information: First name, email address, and (optionally) last name when you submit the email form to receive your market assessment report.
  • Business context: Information you provide in our forms — including the problems you’ve solved, your profession, target audience, target platforms, niche framing, and product idea descriptions — used to personalise AI-generated niche suggestions and market assessment reports.
  • Generated reports: PDF copies of the market assessment reports we produce for you, stored so we can email a downloadable copy to your inbox.
  • Technical data: IP address used for abuse prevention (rate limiting). Standard server logs (browser type, request timestamps, page paths) collected by our hosting provider.

We do not require you to create an account. We do not collect passwords. We do not process payments.

How We Use Your Information

  • Generate personalised niche identifications and market assessment reports tailored to the business context you provide
  • Email a PDF copy of your generated report to the address you provided
  • Provide newsletters and promotional content (with opt-out options)
  • Prevent abuse and maintain platform stability (rate limiting, error monitoring)
  • Improve service quality and user experience

Third-Party Services

We work with trusted providers to deliver the Digital Product Idea Validator:

  • AI model inference provider — generates the niche suggestions and market assessment reports based on the business context you provide
  • CRM and email delivery provider — stores your lead information and delivers transactional and marketing emails
  • Cloud hosting and storage provider — runs the application and stores generated PDF reports
  • Rate limiting and data store provider — prevents abuse via IP-based rate limits
  • Error monitoring provider — tracks application stability with PII redaction enabled

These providers handle your information only as required for service delivery. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. A current list of our specific providers is available on request — contact support@thenorthboundlabs.com.

Data Retention

  • Lead information: retained in our CRM as long as you remain subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.
  • Generated PDF reports: stored on our cloud storage provider so the email-delivered link remains accessible. We do not currently auto-delete these; if you’d like yours removed, contact us.
  • Business context (form inputs): not persisted on our servers beyond the AI generation call. The data is sent to the AI model provider for processing and discarded after the response is returned to you.
  • Logs: subject to standard retention windows of our hosting and monitoring providers.

When you request deletion of your data or unsubscribe, all associated personal information is permanently deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Reports produced by the Digital Product Idea Validator are AI-generated research, not financial, business, or legal advice. Earning ranges and time-to-first-sale estimates are directional, not guarantees. Verify any specific claims, statistics, or competitor information before acting on them. We make no representations about the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content.

Security Measures

Your data is secured using reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted HTTPS connections, server-side handling of credentials, and PII redaction in error logs. We work to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure of your personal information.

Cookies & Analytics

We use minimal cookies necessary for application functionality. We do not currently use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

International Operations

Our platform is operated in Canada but may be accessed globally. By using the Digital Product Idea Validator, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in Canada and other countries where our service providers operate.
